Foundation Programme
Preparation for Postgraduate Study in Education (Microcredential)
The Teachers’ Institute Foundation Programme provides a pathway into postgraduate secondary teacher training with The Teachers’ Institute for individuals with five or more years of relevant experience in Te Reo Māori or Technology, but who do not hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
The programme aims to bridge the gap between industry experience and the academic demands of postgraduate teacher training, ensuring participants are prepared for study at NZQCF Level 8.
By the end of the programme, students are equipped with foundational academic and pedagogical skills necessary to succeed in a formal postgraduate teacher training programme with The Teachers’ Institute.
This programme is a prerequisite for entry to The Teachers’ Institute Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary, School-based) for eligible applicants wanting to pursue Te Reo Māori or Technology who do not hold a NZQCF Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent.
