There’s a lot happening for The Teachers’ Institute in 2026!

On 12 January, we welcomed our new cohort of 150 trainees, from all ages, stages and backgrounds, with their first block course, which saw trainees presented with an overview of the TTI programme and expectations; the information needed to enter their home school in the coming days and weeks; and important foundational knowledge around education, teaching and learning.
We launch our newly accredited Primary teacher training programme following approval and accreditation from NZQA and the Teaching Council in 2025. We’ve drawn on innovative pedagogies to design the programme, combining what we believe is the best in curriculum, delivery and expertise across the sector. Read more about that here: TTI Primary Programme accredited for 2026.
We’ll be moving our campus to larger premises in Parnell, where we’ll be able to accommodate our 150+ teacher trainees and growing team of staff. The space has been renovated with intention, and comes complete with large learning spaces, break-out rooms, all the mod-cons needed for up-to-date teaching and learning and, of course, a purpose-designed student kitchen to keep our trainees fuelled through their block courses!
We are onboarding around 67 partner schools, along with mentor teachers and school coordinators. As a school-based programme, our partner schools are absolutely fundamental to the success of our trainees, and we look forward to a year of close collaboration, ongoing training and continual improvement in everything we do.
Enrolments are full for 2026, but we’re already enrolling for 2027. Find out more about studying with us here: Study | The Teachers' Institute
