ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Hone Heke
Ngapua Rankin.
I am from Ngāti Whātua and Ngāpuhi, raised in Reweti near the Kaipara Harbour alongside my marae, Te Whiti Te Rā. This upbringing shaped my deep connection to Te Ao Māori.
With over 11 years teaching across primary and secondary education, and more than 6 years leading my consultancy, I have supported schools to unlock their cultural potential in meaningful and practical ways.
I am the founder of Te Pūheke, a whānau-led business grounded in the belief that carrying our past into the future is a source of strength.
This mahi is about more than knowledge. It is about shifting practice, strengthening identity, and creating classrooms where every learner
truly belongs.
